Yael Home

From the first picture in Yael’s project you were able to tell that she associates home with family. Her first slide was of her and her siblings a long time ago. They were all sitting close together and had their arms around each other. Although they weren’t in their house, and were on vacation, it showed that to Yael home is wherever her family is. Her next picture was of a baseball glove. From the actual picture it was hard to see the relationship and how it connected to her family, but after reading the paragraph it became clear that this glove represented a special bond between not only her immediate family but her extended family as well. Yael’ s next slide was really good. Not only was I able to see the relationship she shared with her best friend but it reminded me of the relationships that I share with my friends.

Elaina Home

The title Elaina choose for this project was “home = family.” I thought that this was a great choice because it is unique and she will be able to expand on why she specifically choose to use an equal sign in later slides. Her first picture was of her immediate family with her new sister-in-law. From the picture the impression you get is that they are all happy and are very close, particularly Elaina and her sister who have their arms around each other. However after reading the text you are left wondering weather the relationship is really good between Elaina and her new sister-in-law. Also the color of the text made it hard to read. The next picture was a picture of Elaina and her sister in Israel. Just form looking at the picture you were reminded of the close relationship they share from the previous picture. However in the text it would have been better had you gone into more detail about your relationship then what you did on your trip. The next picture was of Elaina’s bathroom, which she shares with her sister. I liked how in her paragraph she introduced her brothers. We already know what kind of relationship and bond she shares with her sister but it made me curious as to what type of relationship she has with her brothers.

Fred Home

Fred’s first picture was a good choice and fit perfectly with his opening sentence. I also liked how he acknowledged that everybody has his or her own definition of home and that he was going to share with us his. He also mentioned how music was a big part of his life and set up his second picture nicely. This picture was of his Buddy Rich CD. From the picture alone it was hard to tell the relationships that he had to it. It was not until after the text was read that the reason why this picture was chosen became clear. Fred next picture was of himself with his father. The picture was cropped so that only Fred and his father could be seen. The text to this picture was especially good. Fred was able to capture all of his father’s qualities and their relationship through his father’s life story. After reading the text and then going back to the picture I was able to better understand the reasoning for his fathers posture and the relationship they share. This picture also made me think of my dad and how appreciative I should be for all that he does.
