Home Presentations, by: Eddie

Yael:
Her first picture was of her and her siblings on a trip in New Hampshire. The picture was self explanatory and we saw that her family was extremely important to her. She did a good job by picking this photograph as her homepage because there were several things within the photograph that showed something about Yael and her home. One photograph which I thought did not do such a good job was the picture of her childhood baseball glove. Yael did explain the importance of the glove and how it reminded her of the many Sundays spent with her family playing little league baseball. The problem with the picture was that I was not there for her little league games, so I would not get that image from the picture alone. When I saw the baseball glove, all I could think was that maybe she is a fan of the Yankees.

Elaina:
I thought that she picked a good picture for her homepage. The picture was of a wedding so it showed many generations of her family. It showed the closeness of her family and a lot of happiness. Her text however, was very difficult to read but it was interesting because in it she made a point about having to accept her sister-in-law to her family. It showed that family isn’t always harmonic so it gave us an interesting outlook on families. As we all know, not all families are friendly and good. The photograph which I thought she could have branched out into many different topics about her home was the photograph of Elaina and her sister in her homeland. I thought that in the picture there were many things happening and there was a lot for the audience to take in. I also thought that it was a good picture because of the lighting and because of the building in the background. The building had Hebrew writing on it so we can infer her religion and in what country she was in when the picture was taken. Just looking at that photograph I would say that Elaina cares about her sister, travels, and maybe speaks another language. All those things could be branched out and expanded in different ways. I do like how in her text she spoke about how she hadn’t seen her sister in 4 months so we get the impression that she missed her sister and that she had a good relationship with her.

Fred:
Fred’s first picture was really great. It was of him just smiling and having a good time. We saw that he was happy and happiness meant a lot to him and his family. In the picture he looked pretty funny so I assumed that humor is a big part of his home. The text of his homepage did not match with his photograph. He spoke about a bunch of people in his family that were not in the picture. Maybe Fred should think about choosing another photograph for his homepage. Another good picture that he chose was a CD cover of a drummer. This photograph made perfect sense because we saw that Fred had a passion for music and for drumming. The photograph was very self explanatory which was great so all the text he wrote was just extra information to help us get a better picture of who he is. My favorite photograph of Fred’s project was the picture of Fred and his father. In the picture we saw how happy Fred and his dad were, and how close of a relationship they seemed to have. The really interesting part was the text to this photograph. Fred spoke about his father and showed how much he admired and respected him. We saw in Fred’s writing that he looked up to his father. We found out that Fred’s father has a dangerous job and that he does this job to support and take care of his family. We found out that Fred’s father is a family man and that he is loved by his family. Fred did a real good job on his presentation, He chose great pictures and his writing had a lot of emotion and personality in it.
