Elaina started off her presentation by introducing us to her family on the day that they inducted a member in a sister in-law. By reading what she wrote it seems that she’s closest to her sister out of the rest of her family members. And near the end of the paragraph there seems to be some conflict whether having this new sister in-law is a good thing or going to make thing very different in a way she doesn’t want it to. Elaina mentions how she doesn’t think of home as a place but more as whom she’s with. She then leads us into the person closest to her in her family her sister, she mentioned how throughout her time in Israel they would talk all the time, and when they met up in the airport after four months she was full of emotions. One can tell by that how she truly feels about her sister.
The gift that Elaina gives her sister shows that she always thinks about her sister first and enjoys buying stuff for her. By showing that while she was in Israel she was thinking about her all the time. One can further understand her relationship with her sister in the picture following that with the big bathroom and the double sinks. The picture tries to get the audience to notice that they live within close quarters of each other, and that could be why and how they have become so close.
The stethoscope Elaina’s last picture shows that her house contains stuff that many others don’t. She writes how since her mother is a doctor growing up she never got the typical mother freaking out treatment of a paper cut, but rather the clam and easy going treatment. Home to Elaina seems to be consisted of people, and objects to many that is what home consists of.
