In-class writting

"As Martin Heidegger often acknowledge by Derrida to be his most important philosophical influence, put it, "We do not speak language"; rather "language speaks us" by fashioning meanings that we can sensitiz and attune ourselves to but never fully determine or control."

As argued by Henry McDonald in The Performative Basis of Modern Literary Theory, Derrida see Heidegger as the most influencial person to him. Martin Heidegger says that language defines who we are by the types of words we use and how we speak. However, there are always more or better words to use but you're limited to what you know (pg57).
